There is no funkier horn band on the planet than Tower of Power, and this show recorded live at The Record Plant in 1973 is just a little proof. The members of T.O.P. have changed over 4 decades of the band, and that often involved their Lead Vocalist. This show features one of their best in Lenny Williams, along with Tower of Power co-founders Emilio Castillo & Stephen 'Doc' Kupka, Trumpeter Greg Adams, Saxman Lenny Picket, drummer David Garibaldi, and the baddest Organist on the west coast Ches-taa Thompson. I feel lucky to have seen them around the time of this recording, and the band was finally geting airplay in the summer of '73 with "So Very Hard To Go" and "What Is Hip?".
