An historical document of the Jan & Dean "comeback" tour following the success of their tv movie life story.
Jan, still suffering from brain damage, had improved enough to attempt the shows with his minimal input. Other than his "ba ba ba ba" vocal lines, he really struggles to stay on pitch and to stay in time.
It's a valiant effort to overcome the brain damage, and listening to it you really can't help but root for him and overlook the bad parts.
I saw them live on this tour and have a vivid memory of several times during the show, other band members stepping up to take over the vocals for him because he wasn't keeping up. Also, several times he would look back at the band and motion for them to go more slowly.
Still have a special place in my heart for this duo! Lots of good memories listening to their tunes over the years!
